Are you just starting to learn how to play the guitar, and are not sure what and in what order it is better to study so that learning is not too difficult and boring, or are you already playing, but your progress is very weak?
Do you want to play your favorite songs as easily as other guitarists do, but when you try to repeat something, you face a lot of difficulties that you don't know how to solve?
Do you want to achieve the desired result in the shortest and simplest way, while enjoying learning?
If you recognize yourself in any of these lines, then you've come to the address :)
From my own experience, I know how much time can be wasted learning and practicing doing something wrong. When you spend many hours trying to repeat something on the guitar, but still can't, and don't understand why you can't, this can often cause a person to simply lose heart.
How the guitar is usually taught and why these methods often do not bring significant results
1. Analysis of songs on the Internet, on YouTube.
It's great that now you can find a detailed analysis of how to play it on YouTube for almost any song. But this is calculated, as a rule, for people who already have experience and have formed basic skills. For beginners, even the simplest chord is not always able to quickly hold, rearrange, etc. Therefore, you need to choose suitable songs and tasks for a person for his level and abilities.
2. Self-instruction manual. Beginning guitarists often try to learn from a self-study guide like "Guitar for Dummies" or "Learn to play the guitar 20 songs in 5 lessons."
There are many good and useful books on guitar, but the problem is that the book cannot tell you if you are doing the tasks right. The book does not provide situations of what to do if you are unable to complete the task and it is too difficult for you. In addition, a guitarist often writes a book, but not a guitar teacher, and delivers material in such a way that it is sometimes difficult for an ordinary person to understand what is meant, or how to do the task.
3. Guitar playing friend. Someone is trying to learn from a friend who already plays a little.
Of course, a friend can tell you how to do things that they have already mastered. And perhaps it will be better to learn from him than on your own. But the problem with this way of learning is that it doesn't always work. Firstly, your friend himself may not know some things that he himself does wrong, since, most likely, he, too, is still learning, and may tell you some things wrong. Secondly, everyone has different abilities and if your friend quickly mastered something by going through such and such steps, it does not mean that you will succeed if you follow the same steps. Perhaps, for your abilities, the steps to master the same need to be slightly different. Thirdly, your friend probably does not have a lot of experience in teaching guitar and does not know what common mistakes different people have, which methods of solving them work best, which ones are worse, and how to lead to the result along the shortest path.
4. The closest and first found guitar teacher.
If a person feels that the first 3 methods will not work with him, then, as a rule, he decides to find a teacher for himself. And the problem most often here is that most people assume that all teachers are the same, and the closer to their home he teaches and the cheaper he takes for classes, the better it suits them, and this is often not the case.
Sadly, the teacher may be inexperienced in teaching other people. Can teach classics when, for example, you are just interested in songs with a guitar. In this case, he may not help at all in playing the guitar, but rather discourage the desire to practice.
When I was learning to play the guitar I tried all of these methods and spent a lot of time developing my guitar skills. It was a shame when I found out that I was doing something wrong, and now I have to relearn it again. It was a shame when I learned something that needed to be learned much earlier. It was a shame that I spend a lot of time at the guitar, and the progress is not the same as I would like.
The turning point for me was the moment when I started taking lessons from an excellent teacher who organized me correctly and made the learning process interesting for me. He showed me what to do specifically for me to get the desired result, how to do it correctly, and led me by the hand through the entire learning process, correcting all my mistakes that I made while completing his assignments.
